Ever since I was a little kid I had always wanted a pug. There's just something about the sparkle in their eyes that shows their warmth, the wrinkles on their face that project wisdom (or goofiness), and the curl of their tails that suggests spunk. Then there are the pug owners. They have always been the most compassionate, caring, kind, and witty people I've ever encountered.

About a year ago, John and I decided it was time to get a dog. At this point in our relationship, he was well aware of my fondness of pugs, so we contacted you and less than a week later, took home Mozart, the sweetest little dog we'd ever met. Not only is he loving, social, and affectionate, but he is clownlike in his mannerisms and always finds new ways to make us laugh.

Mozart loves going to the dog park, but particularly enjoys trips to San Francisco's Pug Sunday events. The more we thought about it, the more we felt that Mozart would really thrive with a little "brother" or "sister." As we like to say, we got him a puppy for his birthday. Just nine days after he turned one, we brought home little Tofu.

These dogs are inseparable. When Tofu isn't cuddling on our laps, she is snuggling up with her "big brother" Mozart. We always knew that Mozart was well-mannered, but the addition of a puppy to our family really brought out the nurturing and gently playful side of him. Tofu is developing quite the spunky personality and she really adds color to our family dynamic. She and Mozart win over the hearts of everyone they meet! Everyday is a new adventure with these little guys and we love them so much.

Homie has made him self right at home. He fits so well with our family and life style.

Phoenix is happy and healthy first and foremost. You and the rest of the group that have put these little angels on this earth are truly the best. When David and I looked for a great breeder we searched long and hard. Not days not weeks not months but years to find someone who bread for health, quality and beauty and we chose you all.

Besides Phoenix's handsome face he is one of the most healthy Pugs known to man kind! We are truly blessed by what you did for them. Too many people that I have come across with their Pugs tell me how many problems they have from this to that. We don't have anything like that. His disposition is unbelievable too. I really think he would make the worlds best Therapy Dog.

We think that you should know that not only does he have the best personality and healthy but, I think he is show quality. In my opinion. Everyone stops us and wants to know about him. How do you feel about maybe showing him or letting us know what to do. We love you guys for giving us this beautiful dog so we want to see what we can do.

I want to thank you again for our precious boy, Bo! He is such a little joy. I can't believe he is already using his litter box and going potty outside! He loves to be held and cuddled and gives tons of kisses! I can't wait until his first "pugtona"! He loves his "Bo Condo" here in the living room and plays with all his toys. I wanted you to know that Winston is the BEST puppy we could ask for. We went in for his third round of puppy shots and the Vet said he’s in perfect shape! He has so much energy and plays with us every night. We take him with us wherever we go and he is SO SPOILED with love. People watch us with him and often say, “He’s got the best life!” Kelan is incredibly good with him and loves to play at night with him. We feel he’s made our marriage even stronger and we realize how much we want to some day have a baby after watching the joy this puppy has given us.

Hi Beverly,

I just had to write you and let you know how wonderful Lula belle is doing.

She brightens all of our days and the neighborhood kids are always coming over to play with her.

And it’s not always just the kids……

She sleeps all night, does her business on the puppy pads and gives us lots of hugs and kisses.

She is so good, so well balanced and so happy!

We are enjoying all the joys of having a puppy without the difficult things you hear about.

Hi Beverly!

I wanted to let you know that we LOVE Kirby. Kirby gets prettier every day, is SMART, and makes more funny noises than any dog I know. She chortles when she's happy (most of the time), grumbles, grunts and makes coffee percolator noises when she's hungry. She barks (and occasionally howls) at her toys when she's playing. She's housebroken, knows what it's OK to chew on, what rooms in the house she's allowed in (no puppies in the living room or the sewing room) and our boxer, Ernie, just adores her. She's a celebrity at the local Starbucks. Hank takes me out for coffee before he goes to work twice a week, and I bring her along to socialize, and the staff all come out to pet her (I bring little treats for them to give her, so she LOVES Starbucks!). She loves to play ball with James, and I laugh every time I watch them play.

Thank you so much for our little fuzzy meatloaf.

I have never bought a dog in my life and so when my son Really wanted a black male pug puppy I was very nervous and searched on the internet for quite a while until I was fortunate enough to find Kern River Pugs. I found the most wonderful breeder, Beverly, who is kind, knowledgeable and answered All of my questions even the Silly Ones. We just picked up our little guy today and have named him Yogi. I cannot Thank Beverly enough for her help and patience in answering all my questions. Our little guy is healthy, happy and so is my son as you can see by the picture.

Madison is a lovely young lady that works hard at school and volunteers in her community. Her parents surprised Madi with her dream of having a Black Pug for Christmas.

Hello Beverly, this email is long overdue, but we wanted to send you an email about Buster. He is doing very well....

"Bus" as we nicknamed him, has completed his puppy training and is now amidst intermediate training. He did very well with potty training quickly and only undergoes a few misses every now and then. He is learning lots of new commands/tricks and is making many new doggy friends. He is a very, very joyous puppy and gets along with other dogs wonderfully. He even gets good reports for his sweet behavior from his dog care provider PetSmart. He loves play time, visits to the park to chase his fetch toy, belly rubs, his bacon-flavored bones, going with us in the car wherever we go, and also hanging out at populated shopping areas where he can strut his stuff. Mostly, he enjoys playing with people and being around active places where people are.

I can't tell you how many times we hear how "cute" of a pug he is as we walk by passerbyers and the ones who stop to pet him for a while. We've even been approached by strangers asking if we are thinking about breeding him and that they would be interested in his litter..haha...We are thinking there may be a modeling career for him...haha..

We cannot thank you enough for providing us such a great new addition to our home. Buster is very special to us and we are so excited to have him as part of our family - even when he causes some mischief..haha......It's funny when he seems to lose his mind for a minute or so and runs wild back and forth and in circles repeatedly - that's fun to watch, and tough to stop..haha..

Hi Beverly,

Chi Chi is doing just fine... She loves to play fetch and can sit, beg and lay down for a treat. She does still pick on Pickles somewhat but they also play and keep each other company-I have even seen them kiss each other! Chi Chi is SO sweet and loves to cuddle on my neck at night and she's also very people pretty so she has a good personality. Here are a few pictures of her for your website-the costume was from when we took her to Pugtoberfest last October.

I am happy to tell our story;

We have never had dogs. (Can you believe it?) My four children have been begging… and after much research, we decided on Kern River Pugs. Two adorable females were available, a black and a fawn… and we agonized over our choice. Finally my husband said “Why don’t we get both of them?”. The kids screamed with joy but I was worried. I knew there was lots of work involved and that I would end up doing most of it. We brought both girls home and I was right, the brunt of the work fell to me. But what joy!!
These little gals soon had each of us in love with their wiggly selves! They are happy members of our family and
have the sweetest dispositions. Friendly, enthusiastic, even calm (after exercise)… they are the best idea we ever had. Pugs have a reputation of being googly-eyed, ugly dogs. Not my babies. They are gorgeous…
